Greg Brooks, employed by Sub Sea Research, insists that a wreck sitting 80kms off America’s Atlantic coast is none other than SS Port Nicholson - a British merchant ship which was taken out of action after being torpedoed by the Germans in a 1942 attack that caused the deaths of six people. Many have already expressed doubts on the wreck holding platinum, with maritime law also complicating any ownership claims.

Mr Anthony Shusta, the attorney that has been representing the British government, commented that a confirmation is being awaited with regards to whether or not the ship ever carried platinum. Shusta added that the United Kingdom must wait until salvage operations have started before coming to a decision on filing a claim for cargo.

Mr Brooks says that a ledger from the US Treasury Department shows that platinum bars were definitely on board and were meant to be part-payment for war supplies sent to the former Soviet Union from the US. According to Mr Brooks, he also has video footage that clearly shows him underwater with a platinum bar.

The bar is surrounded by 30 boxes Brooks believes hold highly-coveted platinum ingots. Although Brooks hasn’t managed to bring any platinum up yet, he has told of his hopes that the treasure can be raised close to the end of February. While negotiating salvage rights, Brooks had to keep his announcement quiet for at least four years.

At least 40 vehicles were damaged in Prune before the bus finally came to a halt after half an hour and police arrested him. Santosh Maruti Mane, the driver, was described by police as having gone beserk on his 25kms rampage that took place at the height of morning rush hour.

In order to determine a motive, the 30-year-old suspect is being questioned. Mane, employed by the government-funded state transport department, clocked in at the bus depot earlier than scheduled on Wednesday before driving off in an empty bus, according to police.

Eyewitnesses recalled how he drove the bus at very high speed, as well as on the other side of the road, while making his way through busy areas, smashing into vehicles, and mowing down pedestrians.

Although police opened fire, Mane didn’t stop the bus like many thought he would. Scenes of chaos ensued as members of the public threw children out of the way of the road. Thankfully, a college student managed to take control of the wheel when the bus slowed down shortly after striking a vehicle.

TV pictures showed clips of smashed cars, bicycles, and motorbikes after being hit by the bus. An eyewitness explained that Mane rammed into whoever came his way.

Sources allege that almost 10,000 neo-Nazis are operative in Germany at the moment and that the database will include information currently held by federal and state authorities. The German public has criticised the authorities for failing to prevent the gang held responsible from carrying out the murders. As of yet, the database proposal hasn’t received backing from German parliament.

The Zwickau gang emerged when a female named Beate Zschaepe set off explosives in her rented apartment in a city in eastern German. The corpses of two alleged male accomplices were later discovered in a caravan.

In total, Zwickau has been linked to nine murders - most of them males of Turkish origin – as well as a policewoman, from 2000 to 2007. The group has also had the finger pointed at it for two bombings.

The register includes names of extremists who have been verbally supportive of neo-Nazism or have plotted extremist violence. The database is modelled on an American database of extremist Islamists that had to be set up shortly after the September 11 attacks we carried out.

A lack of communication between Germany’s police and intelligence agencies, of which there are 21 in total, has been highlighted as the key reason why Zwickau wasn’t discovered much sooner. Every one of the country’s 16 states is with its own police constabulary and intelligence agency.

She told CBS of how she hasn’t read the book and explained that it is wrong for Ms Kantor or anyone else to think that they are able to write about her thoughts and feelings in the third person. Ms Kantor says that she has based her book on interviews that she has studied and by conversing with past and present White House staff.

Mr Max Warren, who records under the performing name of Maxamillion, claims that Khalifa’s number one US single is guilty of plagiarising his own track, which was recorded some three years before in 2008. Khalifa - whose real name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz – is named in court papers filed in the state of Pennsylvania’s largest city, Philadelphia, along with two further songwriters and various record companies.

As of yet, spokespersons representing neither Khalifa nor Atlantic Records have commented on the matter. Similarly, both tracks feature their titles being rapped repeatedly. Black and Yellow, which didn’t chart as high in the UK as in the US, reaching number five, makes reference to the colours donned by sports teams of Khalifa’s native Pittsburgh, two of which are the NHL ice hockey outfit the Pittsburgh Penguins and the NFL American Football side the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Black and Yellow was the lead single from the rapper’s debut LP, entitled Rolling Papers, which managed to reach number two on the Billboard Chart in the US. Although approached, a lawyer representing Mr Warren turned down the opportunity to comment.

The star, aged 48, is now back in London after a month-long residency in a Vienna hospital and told reporters that while still incredibly weak, he feels amazing. Speaking at a press conference that took place outside his home, a clearly emotional Michael said that he has plenty left to live for.

Unfortunately for his adoring fans, Michael was forced to halt the last 14 dates of the tour he was on when taken ill. The entertainer acknowledged that Vienna’s General Hospital, known as AKH, is the best possible place in the world he could have been.

Michael went on to explain how the doctors spent three weeks just keeping him alive, which is why he now feels fortunate just to be able to still draw breath. The musician understandably took the opportunity to apologise to his loyal supporters for failing to contact them but pointed out that he has not really been in a fit enough state to do so.

When asked what will be done with regards to the cancelled gigs, Michael explained that everyone that is now out of pocket will be reimbursed. Additionally, he would like to perform for the medical staff in Austria that saved his life.

Michael has been advised by his doctors to make sure he takes full and complete rest. An impressive 45 concerts of his tour were already completed before the Careless Whisper star had to cancel his scheduled Vienna performance.

In its report, the human rights outfit said that thousands have been arrested without charge or trial. Those that have voiced their wishes for reform have been handed long sentences after trials that Amnesty branded grossly unfair.

Thus far, unrest has mostly been confined to Shia minorities in the country’s eastern reaches. The 73-page report was published today and in it Amnesty accuses the authorities in Saudi Arabia of apprehending hundreds that demanded social or political reforms. Shockingly, even the relatives of those that have been arrested have been jailed without any charges leveled against them, let alone a fair trial.

The report says that ever since February, which is when sporadic demonstrations started - in defiance of the permanent national protest ban - the Saudi government has launched a crackdown responsible for the arrest of mainly Shias in its Eastern Province. From March onwards, over 300 people that took part in protests in Qatif were detained, according to Amnesty.
While most were released after being made to promise not to protest ever again, many have been banned from travelling.

Last week 16 males, including nine prominent reformists, received sentences that varied from five to an alarming 30 years behind bars. Amnesty insists that they were both blindfolded and handcuffed throughout their trial, with their lawyers not allowed to sit in court.
