Bookies give multiple odds for Britain’s Got Talent hopefuls

April 22, 2010

The latest season of Britain’s Got Talent premiered to high ratings with its first episode last week. However, bookies are split as to who the favourite is for the win. Currently, 10-year old Chloe Hickinbottom, Tobias Mead, and Tina & Chandi are all tied with 8/1 odds.

Chloe is a singer, Tobias is a street dance, and Tina dances with her dog Chandi. Three very different acts who have all been given the lead in likelihood of winning the most-watched talent competition in the country.

Returning act Kieran Gaffney, a drummer, missed out in the semi-final round during last year’s season, but is currently ranked by bookmakers at 10/1 odds. Josh Warner Campbell, a young dancer, is holding a far off fifth with 50/1 odds.

Meanwhile, the outside odds are being held by Ruby Girls, an all female dance troupe and Kevin Cruise, a comic, both of whom are tied at 150/1. But in last place is Jimmy Ford, an Irish tribute act, who has been given 200/1 odds of winning the popular TV show.

The next installment of Britain’s Got Talent will air on Saturday at 20:00 GMT on ITV1. Last year’s winner Diveristy has been overshadowed by second place runner-up Susan Boyle’s widespread success. Susan Boyle has taken the UK by storm, becoming an international sensation with her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream.

After Susan’s I Dreamed a Dream audition for last year’s show went viral on the internet, she has become a household name. Her debut album, aptly titled ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, was released earlier last year to record breaking sales.
